Cadmore End: St Mary le Moor

http://church.cadmoreend.org.uk

St Mary-Le-Moor serves a small village in the Chilterns. The church was consecrated in 1851, designed by Rhode Hawkins and is built from local flints dressed bath stone. It has attractive deciated stain glass windows dating from 1856. The font cover acts as the memorial to commemorate those who fell in the Great War and is the work of Miss K Shaw. It depicts a village woman in local dress offering her son to the country.

The parish includes a Church Primary School of approx. 70 pupils who regularly use the church. The villagers actively support the church through in a variety of fundraising events and by caring for the church yard.

We are now part of the South Chiltern Group of Churches which includes Holy Trinity Lane End,  St Nicholas's Ibstone and St Peters and St Paul's' Stokenchurch.

Lane End: Holy Trinity

We are a family-friendly church and we warmly welcome visitors from near and far to join us in our worship. Holy Trinity Church is a pretty village church and an ideal setting for weddings, christenings, etc. Please contact the Churchwardens, for more information, who will be pleased to answer any questions you may have. Come along to any of our services. We look forward to getting to know you.

We also hold two Messy Church sessions per year, one on Easter Saturday 10am - 12:30pm and one at Christmas, usually a Sunday in late November / early December. Messy Church is a new fun way of doing church for all the family. The format for each Messy Church remains loosely the same, with each session based around a different theme and lasting for about two and a half hours. For the first 60 minutes "messy" activities are offered relating to the theme of the day - during past sessions we have made footprints in paint, made Easter gardens, crafted crosses, decorated Easter baskets, made Christmas cards, Advent candles and wonderful baby Jesus crafts. One Christmas we even made a cardboard church for the Vicar! It is a time for everyone to get creative and get stuck in!

Following the activities is a short story or video related to the theme of the day. This is simple in style, with the children encouraged to join in and show everyone the things that have been made and a couple of songs are sung. We finish off by sharing a meal, giving everyone a chance to sit down and chat - adults and children together.

We hope you will be able to join us for one (if not all!) of our sessions and have some "Messy Fun"! We look forward to seeing you there. If you are on Facebook, please search for us - Lane End Messy Church - and join us!! Visit our website for up-to-date information on sessions.
